Hi, I'm wondering whether anyone knows what the rules are regarding where a notice is placed on your windscreen? I parked on private land, admittedly not in a bay, so yes, I was in the wrong! (You don't hear that often!). I was not blocking any traffic & my parking was sensible (even if it was against the rules!) I didn't see any signs or markings saying I couldn't park there though. I returned to my car with 3 tired, over excited kids, in the dark & with it snowing heavily & left the car park. I got onto a dual carriageway with my wipers on fast & realised something was wrong with the left wiper. It was catching on something. By the time I realised it was a ticket, it had come loose & blown away. I couldn't stop due to weather conditions, the road I was on & the 3 boys. It would've been dangerous. Now I don't know where I stand, why I was issued a ticket (I assume it was because I wasn't in a bay) or who issued it. Why do they put them in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, it was on top of the old tax disc so I couldn't see it. Shouldn't it be in front of the driver? Thanks.

You may be barking up the wrong tree with regards to placement of the ticket.
First of all you need to visit the newbie threads at the top of this forum and once you have some understanding come back outlining when, where and what company placed this speculative flyer on you windscreen and you will get all the assistance you needI Am Charlie0 -
It was in the sweep of the wiper you should have seen it. But thats neither here or there.
You will now have to wait for the notice to keeper.. Which is usually the advice anyway. If you go back to the carpark make a note of the company name and a picture of the sign if you can.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not 'phone the PPC.
As advised, read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES whilst you wait for the NTK. Don't bother about where the PCN was placed on the windscreen, but do complain to the shop manager and landowner as well as appealing whilst waiting for the NTK.I married my cousin. You stated that you didn't see any signs or markings in the car park so why are you saying "I was in the wrong"?
The PPC's that extort money from motorists in these car parks make up their own rules as they go along in their favour not yours and their employees are not the sharpest tools in the box.
Follow Fruitcake's advice, and don't worry about the notice to driver (windscreen ticket), you would not be replying to that anyway.
Wait for the notice to keeper in the post, follow the advice in the newbies thread, and compile an appeal based on advice there.
But never admit to being the driver.
Come back here for help from the regulars before you send off your appeal to get it proof read first though.0
