Energy

I am currently using eon and scottish power for my energy supplies.
Paying eon £120 per month and scottish power 160.00 per month.
I have a moderate detached house but not huge i am a single parent of 2 teenagers.
Have spoke to them previously asking if this is correct and i have informed that it is.
I have no idea how to check but i am sure that this is not correct.
If ths is incorrect can i get reimbursed?

Can someone help please.

    look at the bill
  • I have no paper bills and can not access online
  • Why can't you access their online services?

If you really can't access their online services, you need to ring them and go through all your confirmed meter readings and calculate your actual usage yourself. Ask for your account balance to find out if you actually are in credit.

If you find they have set your Direct Debit way too high, be firm and tell them to lower it.

Before you ring Eon and SP read your meters so everything can be brought up to date

    Good morning Michelleangel,

I'd like to try and help you with the E.ON part of your issue :o

Agree with Robin9 and read the meters and note down the reading, if you can't access your online account, let us know what the issue is and we'll help you sort this out. Or we can arrange to send you a paper bill in the future.

You need to see your bills, so you can see your prices, tariff, if the bill is estimated and how much you're actually using.

Once you have your usage and the account is billed to an actual read, you can check if you're on the best tariff, then you can look at the Direct Debit amount and payments to see if this is accurate.

You may also want to have a look on a comparison site, I'd always advise you to use your actual usage in kWh for this, we can give you this when you speak to us.

Hope this helps a little, I'm sorry there's not lot's I advise without your usage or if the account is estimated or accurate.

    Thank

    Helena :)

Michelle, if you are reading this, this sounds way too high, but without regular readings provided to your supplier(s) on a monthly basis a couple of days *after* your direct debit goes out there is no way to tell.

We have a largish three bedroom 1930s detached house with four open fires (which are seldom used but still in tact so they act as heat leaks), a 28 year old gas central heating boiler and a husband with a heart condition who is always cold and even so we only pay £129 per month for gas and electricity combined - and even so I've looked at my monthly calculation spreadsheet of use and cost and that seems a little (just a little) high so have asked my supplier's opinion on this.
