Edinburgh City Break

I am looking into going to Edinburgh for three nights (Friday to Monday) and wondered whether anyone knew a cheap but decent hotel. Unfortunately the best I can do is £435.98 (that includes flights of approx. £200).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated :-)

I am looking at going in Feb or beginning of March.

Have you looked at Premier Inn? There's quite a few dotted about Edinburgh, and you can sometimes get them quite cheaply, particularly if you book well in advance.

    Where are the flights from?

Had a look at Laterooms and you can get places such as the Holiday Inn West for less than £200 for the last weekend in Feb

There's rugby at Murrayfield on Feb 15 and 28, and on March 21

Avoid these weekends if you are looking for a cheap room

I was looking into going to Edinburgh during the school holidays at Easter. I was searching via expedia, and I found it was cheaper for us ( my son and I) to travel up by train using our friends and.family card and stay in a Travelodge.

http://www.hotelceilidh-donia.co.uk This one is coming up at £243, we really liked it here, very friendly and good food. It's a short bus ride from the centre but on a main route so no bother at all.

The Parliament House Hotel on 6-8 March is £185. It's a nice 3 star hotel a few minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley.

The weekend the rugby is on the same hotel is £300! I agree, try to avoid Edinburgh then. Prices go through the roof.

Edit: sorry, I misread that you wanted 3 nights. This hotel is £250 for 6-9 March. Still a reasonable price for Edinburgh city centre though.

How about Tune? Quite basic but clean, you can take your own towels/toiletries or hire them.

    Really central too.
