Playing Blurays on VLC

Hi I am trying to follow the instructions on the VLC site to play Blurays on my Windows 8.1 computer. However it's asking me to put one of the system files into a folder I can't locate. I have made hidden files available to view.

It wants me to put it into folder: %APPDATA%/aacs however I can't find it, even when I search. Any clues?

Just type that in the search box or however it is called. You won't find this folder in the file explorer since "%APPDATA%" is a variable which resolves to your user's settings folder.

Press your Windows key, type "%APPDATA%/aacs" and hit enter. You'll be brought to the folder.

Probably better if you type %APPDATA%\aacs it is windows of course \ not /

eidt Oh my word on Windows8.1 it works with both slashes

No results found on my computer when I do that! With and without the % and both / \

How strange... shall I create the aacs folder in Appdata?

Type "cmd" in search box - brings up a black box. In there type
echo %APPDATA%

EDIT: Or the L e a w o player may still be free (previously the free player required you to submit some reviews - don't know if this is still the case)
