Lapland

Hi all

I am looking at the possibility of doing a 3 or 4 night break (probably) to Lapland in December this year (ideally).

I have done a quick search and been confronted with a multitude of potential options from Santa's Lapland to package holidays from the like of Thompson.

Therefore has anyone done any of these and if yes, can anyone recommend anyone in particular and associated costs?

It would be for 2 adults + 4 children (although two of them would be 12+ so would be classed as adults).

Thanks in advance

  • I went to Lapland this December. we went with Thomsons as they were the cheapest when we booked. we stayed in Levi, which was a nice little town, a few shops bars and restaurants, although we went half board with our hotel and only ate out once.
I loved it and my 2 top tips are not to book excursions with Thomsons. Much much cheaper to book independently, around half the price. Also if you're not going with Santa Believers!, maybe wait until after december, as Im sure the price falls then. However if the xmas atmosphere is important, imo it was worth every penny!

Try Canterbury travel although they are not actually based in Canterbury.

Not cheap but they provide everything & really look after you :D

Lots of activities included such as skid-doo-ing, husky sledding, reindeer drawn sleigh etc.
