Their T&Cs do state that you can only have 1 free trial.

If you want to get a copy of your credit report in future from experian then I would recommend just paying £2 for the statutory report.

This won't give you a score but the score is basically useless anyway, nobody ever sees it but you and experian. What potential lenders see is on the statutory report.

Alternatively noddle is a free website which you can use to access your callcredit credit file.

  • This has just reminded me to call them back - they haven't refunded mine yet.

Yes they are a pain. It seems they have decided to create a trap in the last three years. I have had maybe three free trials out of Experian over the years. They've changed something in order to create the trap.

The information should be totally free so we can check it totally unhindered any time we like.

They band about our personal data totally unhindered any time they like, and they aren't careful enough with it.

CRAs have proven without doubt that they are not trustworthy enough to be permitted to make money out of their monopoly / cartel positions trading in our data.

I got an email from Noddle the other day thanking me for "helping them" gain 1 million "customers". It just shows the amateurish thinkers behind such communications that they dare to say that they have only now reached 1 million customers out of a possible 20 or 30 million. Pardon me if I thought we were all the customers of all the CRAs ?

I think what they really mean is "Thank you for going to the trouble of paying us or acknowledging us with your time, so we can profit from your personal data, sucker!"

What they don't say is where they got the number 1 million from. I wonder if it includes online accounts set up by all the organised criminals which they gained when their security procedures were lax enough to let fraudsters get access to our credit reports?

Access to your credit reports should be free as they can and often do contain incorrect defamatory information that can ruin your chances of getting a mortgage or other credit. The CRAs should also be made responsible for verifying the information when it is challenged.
  • That's weird, how did they know you had one before? I got my second free trial in July and they didn't realise when I called to cancel. I was going to try for another free trial in a few weeks :rotfl:

Well we aren't surprised are we? Can we trust them to match data to individuals correctly? Er ... the record isn't good!
I was going to try for another free trial in a few weeks :rotfl:
I know what you're thinking, ... did they make a note of your previous free trial or was it two?
Do you feel lucky? ... well do yer ?

Maybe I'm just getting old but I just don't get why anyone needs to see their credit rating/score

Just 'knowing' won't make any difference to your borrowing cap

Can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would pay for this information let alone subscribe monthly mwaa ha ha

I must be missing something obvious but I've never wanted to know my credit rating in my life and can not foresee that ever changing
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?
