Hi, i'm looking for a cheap printer which would obviously use cheap and possibly even refillable cartridges. What should I be looking for, apparently Epson have cheap cartridges but I have no skills when it comes to printing.
Help?
(btw, I have a Lexmark which's ink retails for about £35 each right now, so i'd rather not go with them)

try and find a Canon PIXMA iP1000 , they cost nothing to buy, and if you shop around you can pick up refills for a pound or two each
(last lot I bought; pack of 6 - 3 colour, 3 b&w, worked out at £1.60ish each)

Hi Ramz.
You don't specify a budget mention you mention "cheap printer", but you are right to consider the whole life cost of a printer [i.e. initial purchase price plus 3 years of consumables].
Take a look at the Epson R265, here.

Thye printer would be £52.99 plus P&P, and compatible cartridges can be bought for £1.37 each [or £7.59 for a complete set].
I have had the R200 for 3 years now [having switched from Lexmark too], and I've used compatible cartridges from SVP and UKDVD, and I've only had praise for the printer. There are alternative printers, but I like the option of printing onto my DVD / CD backups, to give them a better look.
Good luck

Can anyone with chipped canon printers confirm that what I have said is true. I am on the verge of buying an ip4300 as apart from the chipped cartridges the printer itself is getting good reviews.0
