Barclaycard - access to old statements

Hi - I have to submit my self assessment return by the end of January. I've completed 99% of the return but am just compiling details of gifts to charity over the year. I've got most bank statements going back to 5 April 2013, but Barclaycard only grant access to 12 months of statements on their online site. I've been all through the FAQs and links on their website but can't find anything that explains how to access older statements and I'm worried that I might not be able to have sight of these.

Has anyone else managed to get Barclaycard to make these available on request?

  • They will give you duplicate statements but charge you for it.

Do you really give that much to charity by credit card on a regular basis for it to be worth this hassle?

On the back of my statement it says that copies of statements are £2.00 each. I would ring them and ask
  • Are you a higher rate tax payer? Charitable donation details are needed only in this case.

Thanks all - I know they charge for posting out duplicate statements, I was hoping they could send me them electronically, I don't need a hard copy. I'll call and ask.

My tax saving is unlikely to be worth the cost of 9 statements @ £2 each.

The OP is unlikely to be filling out a self assessment otherwise (although I grant its not impossible).
