I dont even borrow of my family.
That may not be helping you to get a mortgage then.
No credit history = bad
Good credit history = good
Bad credit history = bad
Get a credit card with a small limit, use it for food and petrol only, no 50ich LED tv's, settle the balance every month and if/when they try and put your limit up, get them to reduce it and remember its not your money.
Do this for a year or 2 and try again for a mortgage, you may have better results."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

There's your answer. Get working and save what you earn.0 -
Can you increase your income? e.g. get qualifications or go for promotion or a better paying job.0

You should be basing your 3 x salary on the gross salary, not your take home, so if your NET is £13,200, your GROSS should be around £15,500, so you should be able to get a mortgage of around £46,500, although a mortgage broker may be able to get you 4 x your gross salary which would be around £62,000.
However, please be aware that whatever house you buy, you will need around a 10% deposit AND money to cover fees which will be at least £1,000 (including basic survey).
I think your best bet would be to get the overtime in and it won't be long before you've doubled your £5,000.0
