My husband has a Volvo which is now twenty years old and the company who provide breakdown cover will not let him renew it. Can anyone recommend a company that will. Thanks.

I can't imagine why a Volvo driver would need breakdown cover

Many thanks for all your prompt replies. Yes I got a price for a car over 20 years old and as Smudger said Startrescue are much cheaper. Also by purchasing via Quidco he can get 15% cash back. £74 instead of £155 with the RAC. You guys are brilliant! Thanks again.
Or £39 with Autoaid instead of £74. As you are married this would cover you if you drive.

For the sake of the pedants autoaid is £41(for single or joint (married) cover.

I have RAC cover and a 60 year old car.

Glad I have it because my wife's three year old car broke down last month.

Get personal cover rather than vehicle cover, he will be covered in whatever car he travels in.

Green Flag are the opposite: personal cover only in vehicles up to 16 years old, named vehicle any age.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.
  • If its a 20 year old Volvo I would suggest looking at a 'Classic car' policy.
Often they offer excellent value and can include breakdown cover at little of no extra cost.

We have two 'Classic Cars' in the house and Fully Comp insurance with European breakdown cover comes it at around £110/year...
I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Better to be approximately right than precisely wrong.
