Has my iPhone6 been infected?

OP - This isn't really something I would be worrying about. iOS is a pretty secure OS (Hence why there aren't anti virus apps for it).
Theoretically any device can be compromised..but for the sort of user it sounds like you are I wouldn't worry.
I would say that it's good to get into the habit of:
Never open email attachments unless you are sure of what it is and confident of the sender.
Never click on links in emails. Go to the website direct and log on from there.

WireLurker infected Mac X OS based devices, and then IF you connected an iPhone or iPad to that device the device could be infected.
Wirelurker was spread to those OSX sysytems by people who downloaded software from a 3rd party store in China.
I'd hazard a guess that neither related to the OP.
The certificate it used was invalidated by Apple last year, soWirelurker as it was is not a risk any longer. Could it come back with a new certificate, maybe , but using a non jailbroken iPhone is a pretty hard target to hit.
So in this case opening the attachments was not a risk. Could it be in the future, possibly but not currently, Wirelurker spread by direct connection not attachments. Can it be on other OS's yes, just not Apple at the moment
For all people comments about Apple the IOS operating system is pretty good security wise, and Apple do push out updates to keep it that way, assuming of course the user takes them...
WRONG

so are Apple wrong as they never consulted MSE about this first0 -
According to the last link it only was affecting people in China - is the OP in China?0

And only when connected to an infected Mac - not just something opened via email on the device itself.
Quote from that article suggest that just basic safety measures would keep you safe from it anyway. The experts suggest iOS and Mac owners only download apps from the official Apple app store and that they make sure to keep their software up to date.
They also advise people to install antivirus and security software, and never connect a device to an unknown, or unsafe computer.0 -
WRONG
Leaving aside Daily Mail rhetoric lets look at an AV firms

You needed a jailbroken device, connected to a Mac OSX via cable that had downloaded a pirated application from a 3rd party Chinese web site and the Command and Control servers have been closed down. And as I said Apple invalidated the certificates used within a few days of this particular malware coming out.
Hardly a common situation, and almost certainly not anything the OP needs to worry about..0 -
well its not just the daily mail if you look on google, its widely advertised, so i dare say Apple is another company that must follow MSE as it seems MSE knows everything even when links prove them WRONG.0

I don't have an iphone, but is it possible for a non-jailbroken iphone to download apps from anywhere but the official app store?0

You links haven't proved erm a link between what happened to the OP, as in an email attachment, and a virus.0 -
Just logged back in to check this thread. Thank you all for your replies.
Wiogs, I'm not in China.
Thanks for your advise, Shopbot. Usually I am very careful with my emails but this email was sent with my sister's name on (altho not sent from her). I still should've realised tho as my sis never sends attachments!0
