How long for Experian to update?

Just a quick query about updating times in relation to an Experian credit file.
First of all, I know that financial institutions forward details to Experian every so often. In the case of my bank, Santander, it seems to be very 5 to 6 weeks.
My question is...how long do Experian take to update credit files ONCE they have received the info from the bank etc.?
The reason I ask this is that I am about to apply for a mortgage, and although I have a 999 score, my credit balances are still showing several thousand pounds more than they are, due to a large purchase which was made just prior to the last file update nearly 6 weeks ago, and now repaid from savings.
I would want any credit report sought by my proposed mortgage company to see that the credit balance is not as significantly high as it is presently.
Is this an issue for the bank etc. to update Experian faster?..or do Experian take time to process updates from banks before they are input into the credit report?
I have read the info on "rapid updates" on the Experian site but it says nothing about how long Experian take to process the info.
Anyone from Experian able to advise please? Thank you.

Hi Abc123456,
If you are applying for a mortgage I can understand that you would want your report updated in advance.
Most companies send us information on a monthly basis. We then have a number of checks to run on the data for quality purposes (over 350!) before it is updated on reports. If no issues are found then the information is usually added just a couple of days after it is received.
If any issues are highlighted by the checks then the update will be delayed while they are investigated. Our Ask James pages covers updates in more detail here.
A "rapid update" is a manual overnight process that can be used by a lender to correct significant errors on a report. Lenders may use this option to ensure that the most serious cases are dealt with quickly should they choose to.
If you email your details and the details of the accounts you are waiting to be updated to uksocialsupport@experian.com I can take a look to see when updates are expected.

Thanks Neil. Co-incidently, the main "problem" one has updated today, but the other balance is a minor one and causing no problem.
My question has been answered in any case.
Thanks again, your advice is greatly appreciated.0 -
