Advice needed please

I am getting more and more confused the more I read, so apologies if it has been asked before but am starting to panic a bit now.
I received a notice to driver/keeper/hirer saying it was sent to the registered keeper dated 31 days after the 'alleged contravention' of no permit. This was the first I knew of this as there was no ticket issued, so was quite shocked. I have read through the newbies bit as it does include reference to the protection of Freedoms act 2012 Section 4. 36 days after receiving the letter I received one from Debt Recovery Plus demanding I pay £160.
So, should I write to DR advising them I am disputing this and can I still send the 1st appeal template letter from the keeper to the parking people or should I send a different one?
Really appreciate any advice from anyone as this is stressing me out now. Thank you

send the template letter to the PPC (appeal anyway) , ignore the debt collectors (like it tells you in post #4 of the newbies thread)

also complain to the landowner and insist on a cancellation
  • Thank you Redx, I will send the first appeal template, but how do I find out how to contact the landowner and is there any particular wording that would be effective?

try google , any retailers or companies on the site, or the land registry

yes, a complaint letter (compose one yourself)
  • I sent the appeal letter to the parking people but have since received a letter from DRP with notice of intended court action if I don't pay by the end of this week. Should I still ignore this or send them a letter saying that this is being disputed and ask them not to send anymore letters as advised on peppipoo. I live on my own and am getting worried about being taken to court
  • Just to add, the main reason for asking is that the information on the sticky is from 2013 and you do advise on this site not to read old information, so need to check that it still applies.

    note THAT date

so as you can see its regularly updated

I dont think you have named this PPC but as post #4 of the newbies thread clears says , YOU CAN IGNORE THE DEBT COLLECTORS

that includes DRP , ONE OF THE WORST OF THEM

read posts #12 and #12 here too

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5161978

DID THE PPC REPLY ? OR IGNORE YOU ? (who are they exactly?)

when was the date of this contravention ?
  • Well I still haven't heard anything back from UK Parking Patrol Office after sending the letter to appeal but have now had yet another letter from DRP offering me to pay a reduced fee, which is still twice the original supposed 'fine'. I take it I should still ignore them?

always IGNORE DRP or any other debt collector in relation to private parking charges, you dont even need to ask, its taken as read !

I did tell you this in posts #2 and #7 , the advice hasnt changed and probably never will
