Help with PCN!

Hello,
I received a letter on 16th December from Vehicle Control Services Ltd telling me that I needed to pay a £60 fine after parking in Albert Street Car Park in Birmingham on the 5th December 2014. I had paid the correct fee and displayed the ticket that the machine issued and left 20 minutes before my ticket had run out.

I sent an email to appeal on 22nd December 2014 and received another letter today telling me that my appeal had been denied and I still need to pay the £60 fee by 30th January 2015 or it will go up to £100.

It also has an option to appeal to the Independent Appeals Services (IAS) within 21 days.

I have read a lot of different threads but I am still unsure on what to do next - as some say to ignore the letters and some say don't ignore them.

I don't know what to do! Please help!
Thank you!

I do not understand. If you bought the correct ticket and properly displayed it, parked correctly, did not leave the site, and did not overstay, then why was your appeal refused?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

In the first letter they sent they said that I didn't display my ticket correctly and in the second they said they don't have a record of me buying a ticket.

I don't think I mentioned that I didn't put my numberplate into the machine - but it still gave me a ticket.

its the lack of the reg number on the ticket that is the problem here

its your choice, either use it in your appeal and provide a copy to the IAS (KEEP THE ORIGINAL SAFE) or ignore it but keep the ticket safe for 6 years in case they try a court case

    THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Thats another problem. I threw the ticket away before I received the first letter from them.

Is it likely that they will take me to court?
Also, will it go against my credit score if I don't pay it?

    that is unfortunate

    yes its possible

no you dont have to pay

if it goes to court, and you lose, then a judgement is awarded against you by the judge, lets say you dont pay the judgement within the 28 days, they can then enforce a CCJ and payment, that is the point it affects your credit rating, not before ( ie:- its the CCJ that kills the credit)

    obvious but true

in future , keep the paid for tickets for several months, or up to 6 years
