loss of sound from laptop

my dell Latitude laptop has lost it's sound, I have checked all the obvious,ie mute switch settings ect I have also checked out the device manager and all is working correctly. The earphone output does not work nor does the HDMI sound output to my tv, the video is ok just no sound. Some help an advice please.

    Sounds like a sound card failure.

    Go to Device Manager and click the "sound" tab and post which sound card you're using please. (full name of the card)

    Also, once you found it, please right click and select "properties > drivers" and let us know which driver version you are using.
