Car Finance advise post DMP

Hi
I fairly recently exited my DMP paying everything off in full - my credit file inevitably has the 'defaults' now satisfied with z.ero balances

My question is as regards car finance - I had my last car via Moneybarn - whilst I know it is not going to happen to get the really good deals that are advertised because my credit file will get flagged does anyone have any experience of any other lenders besides Moneybarn who might consider people with my credit history?

Should I let a dealer try to get me finance through their normal channels?

What shows on your credit history? what are the default dates showing on your file? (the newer they are the harder it will be).
