Northwest Parking Enforcement Ltd

Hi
Please can someone help me… I have read lots and lots of information on here of how to deal with the PPC but unsure about my situation as I can't find one similar enough to be confident …. I received a parking ticket in a Private Run car park in Carlisle from "Northwest Parking Enforcement Ltd". After reading OLD advice of "ignore" I ignored the letters from them but now I'm thinking I have done the wrong thing and need to sort this out… It was a "pay & display" car park and they stuck a ticket on my windscreen. I have received 5 letters in total (kept them).

1. Notice To Keeper from Northwest Parking Enforcement ltd requesting payment of £100.

2. DRP - Demand for payment of unpaid parking charge of £149.

3. DRP - Notice of intended Court action - unpaid parking charge of £149.

4. DRP - Reduced offer to avoid court proceedings £119.20.

5. Zenith Collections - Notice of Debt recovery assignment - offering a Discounted Settlement of £80.

I would be so grateful if someone could point me in the right direction..
Many Thanks in advance x

A standard timeline of events. You're quite probably nearing the end of the hassle. You've ignored everything so far, so continue in that mode.

Debt collectors, DRP nor Zenith (both the same firm if you look closely at the small print on their letters) cannot take court action against you.

Court papers could only be served by NPE Ltd or the landowner. Both highly improbable events. So for now, just ride this out.

Come back if you receive a LBCCC or MCOL papers - which must not be ignored.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

One more letter from Zenith, then that should be it.

  • That has put my mind at rest… I'm happy now to sit and wait…
I just wish a lot more other people would stand up to these people.. My sister in law and a lot (at least 10) of her friends all got caught out on the same day at a Local Sports Centre with the kids… she was told by another friend that if she didn't pay up she would end up in court and that would go against her credit rating.. They haven't got £80 to throw away but she was beside herself so paid up … It isn't right or fair that these so called Companies can do this!! :(
  • Sorry … I forgot to say a BIG Thank you to you for replying :-) x
  • So now you know how these people operate, spread the word to everybody you know. Point anymore friends here who find themselves in the same position. As you have experienced, it doesn't take too much effort to beat these PPCs
  • I am trying to educate people with regards to these Cowboy companies, but it is amazing how many people don't believe me or who think that they will Genuinely get into serious trouble…
It's the older generation I feel for as they are more prone to "just pay up"…
I do feel really strongly about this but have found that when I try to explain to my friends and colleagues that these Companies are doing something that they shouldn't be allowed to get away with, they just reply with "you shouldn't be park there longer than you are allowed then" How can I defend that remark please? x x
  • Hi, any update on this one? Im also from carlisle and received a ticket from these guys - my car was parked in the struts carpark at 8:30 pm at night?

Just waiting for the "nasty" letters coming through :-)
