TV Aerial Repair

Hi all,
I've emailed / used "contact us" forms this morning so that I can get people out to quote for the following. One is coming tomorrow morning and asking if I'd like the work done there and then if happy with the quote - so just looking for a rough idea of a "happy quote"
I have a TV aerial in the attic, but it appears that the cable has been cut / frayed (within the attic) and therefore isn't connected to the aerial socket in the living room and my TV doesn't pick up any channels. I'm looking to get this repaired which I imagine would involve running a cable from the aerial, down the outside of the house and into the living room.
Would anyone have an idea on cost for this please?
I'm based in South Wales.

If the cable has been cut or frayed maybe it just needs jointing in the attic, about a half hour job.0

I mean there's a "cut end" of cable in the attic, but the only other cable I see is behind the socket in the living room - the two aren't connected and there seems to be a chunk of cable missing between (which, given that the living room cable seems to come "up" into the socket, I imagine would previously have come from outside the house). You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
If a socket is mounted in a box in the wall the cable usually feeds up into the attic and then to the aerial in the roof, so possibly there is another cable somewhere up there that can be jointed especially if there is already an aerial up there I doubt that anyone would have removed it, if it had been fed through from outside there would be a cable or hole outside where the cable comes or came out.
Best let the aerial guy check and advise.0 -

Depends if you need things like a splitter in the loft and a booster by the TV if the signal is weak and also if any new drill holes are required through bricks.
Don't skimp on connectors / sockets / aerial cable, always spend a bit more and get a decent quality set up that will give you top quality reception.
My guess is a trader would want something like £150 inc' parts, but who knows really.
I recently did this same job myself and it was bloody complex tbh, took about 6 hours and a lot of sweat and swearing. With any job like this it can sometimes be a quick simple procedure but all to often turns into a far bigger job than was expected so I'd probably pay to have it done by someone with all the right tools and parts.0 -
Girl. I'm in a wales and just had a brand new aerial out on my chimney stack and a huge voile ready for loft fitters. Cost me £95 all in which I thought was reasonable?!0
