I've no evidence that it happens but there is no reason at all why a phishing site shouldn't double up as a driveby malware installer too. It is certainly possible that they may code the urls uniquely in a way that lets them know which email responded encouraging more spam.
My rule would be to never ever click on the links in a phishing email even for the self amusement of entering rude userids and passwords for the scammers to try out which I must admit to having done before I thought about things more clearly.0 -
I'll never click on anything in an email unless I'm sure where it's come from, same goes with downloads.
If Avast doesn't like the look of something, similarly I won't click it.💙💛 💔0 -
