  • Spicy McHaggis - Due to their poor service while I was trained for the class C licence, I no longer wish to continue with C+E class with them, that is the reason of my partial refund. Please see my previous posts as well. Hope it makes sense.

Unfortunately, the service you received *did* result in your passing the test. The fact that you've decided you don't like the instructor's original habits (which you've admitted he changed upon your complaint) is irrelevant. It's your choice not to continue the training.

Did you actually discuss the smoking/phone use with the instructor in the cab, whilst doing the training, or did you just go and complain to the organisers without addressing the problem head-on?

    No, it doesn't.

You paid for class C were trained and got it. Service provided.

You then chose to leave before C+E. Your choice so it's down to their terms and conditions or maybe good will for any refund.
  • You gave your money (business) to a broker not a trainer of your own choice, hence all you were ever going to get was A N Other, if you wanted a particular brand of instructor you should have chosen one yourself and not left it to pot luck.

As it is you passed, congratulations) and you have decided not to go on to the next stage, far as i can see you're the one not fulfilling your side of the bargain whilst the company have done exactly what you paid them for.

I suspect you won't get the partial refund you want so it would make sense to go forward to the next stage and take your class 1 test.

The curse of using a broker has come to haunt many a trainee who didn't research the pitfalls.
Well done on passing and as you want to complete C+E I am going to assume that you want a career in haulage?? Then I suggest, and sorry for the bluntness, complete your training as per your contract and stand up for yourself, if you want a smoke free cab then blinking well say so if the instructor sparks up.
  • Thank you all for your replies. You have been very helpful. It seems that although I hate doing business with them again, I will have to bite the bullet and continue my C+E test with them. At least my money won't be wasted.

    Cheers!
