  • This has been all over the internet and various forums and is being discussed in the MoneySavers Arms as well.

I agree with what you're saying, but the reality is that the place was paid for whether it was used or not*, and as they presumably didn't charge any of the other parents for their child's attendance then there was no liability against the non-attending child's parents.

    * Unless they could have advised in advance and got that amount deducted from the total.

According to newspaper sources, the mother had only confirmed with the childs attendance and paid for them 48 hours before the party. So if she had been advised accordingly she would have avoided payment.

Obviously she has no grounds for recompense and the threat of small claims court is just that - a threat. But I do find the whole issue morally incorrect and rather ignorant by the boy's parents.

Imagine if she had invited 20 children to the ski centre, paid for them and then 10 children hadn't turned up just because they didn't feel like it. I doubt anyone would have found that acceptable.
  • If anyone knows the person or a way of contacting her then I will be willing to post the money she is owed but only in 1 and 2p coins to give her the headache of cashing it.

Seriously !!!!!! this idiot needs to get a life.
