Hi long time lurker first time poster.
In 2013 myself and my wife were struggling to pay our debts and we entered an agreement with mbna and barclaycard to make reduced payments.Barclaycard were fine with this and didn't place any late payment markers on my credit file mbna placed a marker for each of the months i made a reduced payment.I still have £2k to pay off with mbna,my question is if i pay this off and close my account with mbna do the account and late payment markers come off my file or are the markers still visible for 6 yrs
thanks

The markers would still be visible to other lenders for the next six years from the date it's marked as settled. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
