The best vacum cleaner for pet hair in Argos?

My current vacum cleaner broke down today :( so I need to get another.

I have hard floors, carpets, and stairs.

I also have a cat, so need to remove the dreaded cat hair.

The reason why i am asking for Argos is because I have some shopping vouchers.

I do have a old cleaner, should I wait for some furture deals in Argos, or get one now?

I would prefer a bagless one, any suggestions?

    I second the Miele recommendation

It may look expensive, but trust me. Worth EVERY penny

I had the Allervac model as I have bad allergies to pretty much ANY airbourn particles. Compared to a Dyson I had previously....well I will just say no comparrison at all

Do not be put of by the fact it uses a bag, they are a good size and not too expensive

Might want to phone Argos and tell them they have a pet hair problem ;)

Can't speak of pet-hair, but Henrys are well built units in general. Had a Vax that needed to be emptied every 10 minutes because the dust filters would clog up. Took it to the dump and got a Henry and it's been solid for years.

What is the current vac and what's wrong with it? 90% of the ones I come across that are not working simply need the filters washing or changing-if not done, the motor overheats and the thermal cut-out operates. People think this is terminal, whereas it's a 5 minute fix.
A recon Dyson DC07 or DC14 will do the job, but you won't find one in Argos.
