courier for a washing machine

My parents have a decent washing machine that they have said we can have, but they live 165 miles away.
It is too big and heavy for the back of our estate car.
Do any couriers carry big heavy items? It is 90kg! Any suggestions?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I've moved a washing machine easily in a small hatchback with the rear seats up and two passengers!.0

Hire a van and go visit them? Or use a service like anyvan to get some quotes. I used them to do my housemove, but I was watching/present and no furniture was involved.0

90kg is only just over 14 stone, so much less than having two average sized adult passengers in your car.
Put the back seats down and just go get it.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Unfortunately we would have 2 adults, child and probably dog in the car, but will look into hiring van. Thanks!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Hi,
you could probably buy a second hand wm for the cost of van hire.
I see you've an estate car, so should be able to get it in on its side, careful of water leaking.
Or, leave kid and dog with oh parents, and scoot across on a Sat/Sun morning and back at night, your only about 4 hours each way.0 -

You won't be able to fit 2 adults, child and dog in a van either. Leave some of them at home or take 2 cars. What estate have you got? We can get a fridge comfortably in most of ours with the seats up (we've had Passat, Volvo V70, X-Type, Rover 75) without any issues. I'd be surprised if you couldn't fit it in a full sized estate, though the dog will need to go on the back seat.
With what it'll cost you to get it couriered, you're better just buying a new one, or making the round trip on your own (it's only what, 6 hours and a tank of diesel).
You could try one of those uShip style sites to see if anyone is already going in that direction with space in their van/truck, which will at least save you the return trip, but I suspect if you hire a courier to do it directly it'll cost too much.0 -
