4GB USB Memory Key Drive £16.99

What's the deal?
Aldi is offering 4GB USB flash drives for £16.99 as Thursday special offer. This is the lowest price I've ever seen for this amount of storage space.
USB flash drives are effectively keys you stick in the back of your computer and save things on (pictures, videos, documents). Then you can carry your data with you to any other computer and load it there; like good ol' floppy disks, but this 4GB version has almost 3000 times more storage space.
Or more technically, they're a "removable, portable, piece of hardware that can be used to store files and allows easy transfer of those files to laptops and PCs."
How can I get one?
The offer should be available in all Aldi supermarkets as of Thursday 2 August. These offers tend to sell out pretty fast, so it's worth phoning ahead to check stock if you can't make it in on Thursday.

-
yes, spill the beans, did you really buy one, they aint out on the shelves yet? Did you travel forward in time to buy it?0
-
If time travel is the answer, then it'll spell the end for the need of regular backups!!
How right you are, and if your a Mac fac, apple are ahead of the game on this! They have a new app called 'Time Machine' - available in OS X 10.5 when it finally gets released in October, which they say removes the need to do scheduled backups, as its always backing up! Cunning eh!0 -
How long does it take the computer to trsansfer 4gb of data at USB 2 speed?0
-
my local aldi (Hexham) always puts their stock out when they receive it so i get things slightly early0

From the link:
Store up to 4,096 photos, 24 hours of movies (MPEG 4), 66 songs in MP3 format (depending on the quality of recordings)
66 MP3's? surely some mistake!"If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"0 -
