I am not sure f this is the right place to post this but here goes anyway, Are any of you good people aware that there is a card management fee applied every month to these cards @ a cost of 0.90p ?

If you wasn't aware of it check your balance on there website, had a card with £30 on it and a total of £9 has been taken off in card management fees so far :mad:

(This charge will not be applied during the first 18 months following issue of the card. Thereafter, the charge will be applied monthly until such times as the balance on the card is zero and this agreement is terminated)

These cards are pretty terrible value overall - you can keep them in your wallet (like cash) you can spend them in shops (like cash) but you pay for the right to keep them (unlike cash) and have limited spending opportunities (unlike cash).

Cash is the way forward ;-)

Oh my goodness, I've had 2 x £10 cards for months now (just checked and it was mid March last year). I better log on to see how much of my £20 is left. I was not aware of that. 90p for management. They don't do anything with them so there is no managing! What a racket! I've got a list of a great many shops where they can be used. Do a lot of these shops not actually honour these cards then even if they are on the list? Maybe I'll just spend it online tonight so that I don't continue to lose. Thanks everyone for the information!

Edit: Just reread the second post and they don't charge for the first 18 months - phew! I better get cracking then!
