Ive just done the numbers on my revised circumstances and as joint applicants its very tight, me as sole without child benefit looks ok. Would I be able to do a application on that basis and would wife then become a depended though?

you can put any rate in upto about 7% and the output remains the same.

That's what ive been using, based on revised circs it seems to be ok. On the assumption of one dependent and just me as a applicant, if I can do that.

You cant put down that your a single applicant with no dependents unless you plan on putting your child up for adoption - which is probably a bit extreme just to get a mortgage.
You can (subject to Woolwich being ok with it) put down 1 applicant with 1 dependent (your child) or 2 applicants and 1 dependent.

Also, if you have ANY deductions on your payslip - this will reduce how much you can borrow.
