Car insurance for 2 cars in the same day...

Hi Everyone,

I have now purchased my new car, putting in my old one as part ex. However, the car I purchased isn't round the corner. I need to be insured to drive it to the dealership and then swap insurance to my new insurance.

I am sure it is quite a frequent issue. How is it normally dealt with ?

  • Drive to dealer, ring Insurance company, job done :)
  • Insure the new car by changing your current policy, both will be covered on change over day.

where are you buying the car?

many main dealers offer one weeks free comprehensive insurance that starts on collection day and will cover you up until you switch your current insurance to your new car

Last one I was offered had a £750 excess, needless to say for five days cover I didn't bother.
