Had a look at the above website a few days ago.Pretty safe, I thought, but every time I open Firefox it goes straight to it.I've cleared cache and cookies,and also run Malwarebytes and Spybot - no problems reported.I've just now run C Cleaner and this site is still there.I can get rid of it with the 'home' button. Till the next time. I'm at the end of my very limited knowledge now,so is it dangerous or just something I've overlooked?

Go into Firefox's settings -> Genaral tab

What's written in the fields "When Firefox starts:" and "Homepage"?

'When Firefox starts' has Show my windows and tabs from last time
'Home page' has Mozilla Firefox start page.

Give adwCleaner a try. It's pretty good at clearing up browser-related malware and homepage redirections:

Was the tab with the website in question open when you closed Firefox? That would explain why it will be opened the next time you start Firefox.

What happens if you only leave one tab open with google.com or whatever website, then close Firefox and open it again?

Apologies for late reply....power cut!!. Well,I never use tabs - but I clicked the link in esuhl's post and a tab appeared which wasn't there before.I closed it and the problem has now gone.Very strange,but thank you both for your time and info.
