Appauling customer service Asda

This is something I've always noticed. When writing complaints some people seem to turn into tabloid journalists and seem to love using sensationalist terms to exaggerate their experience. I bet this is the only reason why the op described it as appalling. If the driver did spit in the op's face then what word would then end up using to describe that? If this is appalling then what sort of situation would come under the lesser term of bad service in the op's eyes?0 -

They'd definitely be 'disgusted'. That's a favourite - 'It's disgusting!' to describe anything from being overcharged by a penny, to apples not being available on a Tuesday, to being gobbed on (to be fair, that probably is fairly disgusting).
Or 'outraged'. 'I'm outraged!' (the postman came late and I'd already gone to work) or 'It's outrageous' (there was a mistake in the online price but they cancelled my order so now I can't get an ipad for £3.90)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I think I was fair in my description as the store told me where the weather conditions were bad - another 40 miles north of me ! Where they don't deliver anyway. Having been promised three times they would phone me back and they have failed to and almost 24hrs after failed delivery they cant be bothered to refund me ! My delivery is still showing as on its way. I have a very overpriced spar in the village where I live. The nearest Tesco is nearly 20 miles away. I am more fed up about the fact that they don't return calls as promised - especially since the first time I spoke to them they said - they would be able to deliver since they hadn't looked at a map. There is quite a population in the area that they deliver to so I wouldn't be the only customer. I work full time and have young children before online deliveries I would have factored a trip to the supermarket into the equation before letting my children have friends over for the weekend - which has meant that I cant fit them all in the car to go to the supermarket ! Basic customer services normally means that people return calls when promised and refund when they are unable to supply goods. Or am I expecting too much !0

They told you they couldn't deliver. It's at this point you had the opportunity to make alternative arrangements. You chose to leave it in the hand of some call centre lackey who just wanted to get home in good time.0

You're just making this up. How do you know? You seem to live in the middle of nowhere as you said it's 40 miles away but yet they deliver to you!0 -
