It is her house, not yours.
If she wishes to give you a share of the ownership (either as Tenants in Common or Joint Tenants) that is up to her.
It can be done very simply/cheaply if she wishes.

If she wishes to keep the property in her name, and raise a mortgage in her own name, she can (subject to mortgage eligibility).
If she wishes to raise a mortgage in your joint names (ie to take advantage of your income), she will need to sell or gift you a share in the property.0 -
Hi is it a tp1 we need ? We just want both names on the deeds0

You don't do it yourself. The solicitors will deal with it at the same time as the remortgage.0

See my earlier link.Hi is it a tp1 we need ? We just want both names on the deeds
You are not transferring ownership of part of the property (ie just the garden), you are transferring the whole property (I asume!)
As david says, you'll need to pay a solicitor for the mortgage, so might as well get him to do the ownership transfer at same time.0 -
It really isn't a good idea to get a mortgage to pay for a wedding. Im not sure you would be granted one anyway.
Get a loan much easier seeing as you have no mortgage anyway at the moment.
Treat the 2 things completely separately
What do you mean when you say your partner bought the house and since then you have helped her pay for it. ?make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the advice.i payed for the house in cash so no mortgage ect.looks like we will just get a loan for the wedding and get a solicitor to sort out the deeds.
Thanks0 -
Why on earth pay a solictor to sort out the deeds unless you are getting a mortgage?

You may not be able to alter the deeds for 5 years without paying the council back some of the discount your partner received for being the former council tenant.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
