Unfair fees: cash from Credit card

By mistake today, I requested £200 from my credit card instead of my switch card. I realised straight away, tried to cancel the operation but it was too late and the notes were already coming out.

I called my credit card supplier, MorganStanleycard.com and explained the situation, organised a payment through my debit card of £200 but was explained that although it was a mistake and rectified within 30 mins, I will be charged £6 standard fee + 1 day interest!

I was furious since I was honest and been loyal for 8 years paying fees whenever I had to!

Is there really nothing I can do?

No. You took out cash using your card.

The fact it was a mistake is irrelevant.

Use the right card next time.

And it's only <£7. Live with it.

If you've no wish to use your credit card for cash withdrawals ever, then contact your credit card issuer and get yourself Chip & Signature Cards.

    Additional benefits.

You've no PIN to worry about.

If you can't get cash out of machines, neither can crooks.

You can never be accused of being negligent with your PIN if you've not got one.

    It's your choice.

    Hope this helps.

i would be thankful they even did that. If you have a balnace on the Morgan card, that cash would have gone right to the back of your balance and would have been paid off last, that 200 hundred, at 25% would have been about a fiver a month till u cleared off the whole balance. So i think you got off lightly.
