Ignis Nanaged Trust Wind Up

Hi

I had a letter today from Ignis Asset Management. It reads:
Dear Investor
Information to all Unitholders in Ignis Managed Trust, a UK authorised unit trust (the "Trust") Decision to Wind-Up the Trust (the "Wind-Up)

The letter is several pages long and there is a thick booklet. It's too long and complicated to read in one day.

I'm sure other have received the same. What are our option and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the options.

Thanks in advance.

    Is it this letter?

If so, it's only 16 pages, and the options available are explained in plain English. It's really down to which other funds you currently own and what you want to continue to hold.

Do you hold in an ISA?

BTW, this winding up of open-ended funds is pretty common and they are an ephemeral bunch. Any period of under-performance tends to result in a wind up or merge, and the fund is quietly forgotten about when looking at a management company's average performance, or even that of the whole open-ended industry.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
  • Thanks people for the replies.

I was just wondering if others had got it and read it and what they thought.

Before doing anything I was going to add my analysis to help everyone out.
