toilet seat - wide hinge where?

Nothing ever seems simple lol,

so got a new toilet seat today, pack says fits all standard toilet seats, couldnt think of anything that made mine special,

anyway , after finding it didnt fit, im looking for a normal shaped toilet seat, that will fit with a 220mm hole centers,

cant seem to find out through google and normal toilet seat prices,

any ideas?

or is there like a fully adjustable bar hinge thing i can buy? cant find that either?

I see your dilemma, having just purchased a new 'awkward fit' one on eBay.

Do you have a make for the pan itself? Or where it was bought from?

No markings at all, currently butcher a home base seat to fit, but still looking, I notce b&q sell similar stype toilets but there seat range is a bit limited,

Ikea toilet seats may be up your street. The pan fixings can be adjusted quite a lot, both the width between holes and how far forward the seat should fit. They're also cheap and well made.

thanks for the suggestion however we dont have an ikea near here, and they dont deliver , i can see what you mean in i says fits most toilets etc,

really would need someone to confirm before i tried to find it on ebay though, who would have though a toilet seat would be hard to find?

Unfortunately I don't have one to hand, but rather than the usual two screw plates you can twiddle with, the ikea seats have a big concealed plate (probably 10-12" wide) which has three rails where you can slide screws along until they met the holes in the pan. This means you can adjust them a lot more than the normal seats you see around. Search for "ikea maren pdf" to see the fitting instructions to get an idea of how the fixings work.

gogoled that, looks promising, Does the ones listed on ikea site do the same? or is it just the maren? as cant find that on the uk site
