Yesterday I booked a holiday to Sliema Malta for 4 10/4 7 nights. I booked 4 flights, 2 rooms Plevna, taxi. The flight was with Air Malta. I have had a message to email them. Air Malta want another £52 in addition to what I paid. They said 4 flights now £838. On skyscanner £180 each. On Travel republics own site tonight same 4 flights £828 not £838. If I decide not to pay extra would I be entitled to refund?

It sounds like the Travel Republic site did not have the "live" price for the flight.

I suspect they won't have booked the flights yet so you may be able to get the money back for the flights aspect of your booking and then book elsewhere.

The following is from their T&C's

10 Website Accuracy

Where inaccuracies relate to the understatement of the price of a specific product you will be offered either a full refund of money paid on that booking only or the opportunity to maintain that booking on receipt of the additional payment which is necessary.

They may have booked the other parts of the holiday which may or may not be refundable (Travel Republic don't sell packages, they just construct a holiday by booking separate components).

Thanks, will wait to here. I paid for the flights, which if incorrect they should refund but only £1 deposit on each of the two rooms which isn't worth worrying about

If it is a 3rd party site advertising these on skyscanner then it is likely these are not live prices and also do not exist so would be asked for extra. What is the price for the flights on the Air Malta website?

Make sure to check the T&C of your booking, even if you have only paid £1 now you may have committed to paying a larger deposit at a later stage.

The price for the accommodation may well be very competitive and you will be able to keep that booking. Just get a refund for the flights and book them direct.

Thanks everyone. They have refunded me the flights but stuck with the accomadation /taxi . They said if want to cancel the hotel £40 admin fee. Since booking decided we want to change it so will probably change it with them (got 30 days) and maybe do flights separately? We decided to change the hotel and pay a bit more for one with a pool that is open in April!

There's no problem doing this at all. Book your flights ASAP with the best priced airline (you need to make sure you secure flights to match your accommodation!)
