scottish power prepayment meter debt not going down!
I'm at the end of my tether!
Many years ago we paid £80 a month for gas and electricity. However the cost doubled to £160 per month. We soon got behind with payments and request prepayment meters to pay off the debt.
our electric meter stopped taking money for the debt ages ago. However the gas meter continues to take money for debt!
I rang scottish power today to see what debt was left - to my horror the meter said £766!!! How can this be?
The prepayment team couldn't help me and told me to speak to the direct debit debit dept as they were the ones who passed on the debt to them. I rang them and their system didn't go back that far! They put me back through to the prepayment dept (are you keeping up? ) the nice young man said the quantum meter was not linked to the debt!!!!
they are now launching an investigation into why the debt payment is not linked to the meter!
I really want this debt wiped and im sure they will owe us money
moral of the story if you think you are paying off a debt with a prepayment meter please check and double check!
