Hi all and thanks in advance for your help.
During my last year of uni (2010-2011) i shared a house with a few others and we had Virgin Media broadband which was, stupidly, in my name.
Anyway, long story short is I left in early June and cancelled the direct debit, the last three months went unpaid. Meanwhile I forgot it about for 4 years.
Now I want to say it horrifies me now I did that, but id dn;t really understand how things worked then. I owe the money, so it's a fair cop.
Anyway, i had forgotten until Credit Netowrk Soultions traced me to my current adress, recieved a letter from them today. Like I said, I hold my hands, up I owe them the £91 and will pay it tomorrow in full.
I did ring Virgin today to ask about the timeline, and the default date is September 16th 2011. Am I right in think that any record of that default will be wiped from my record in September 2017? And paying it off won't affect that?
Thanks for your help.

You are correct, defaults are removed from your report six years after the default date and this is irrespective of any outstanding balance. Once a default drops off your report the lender cannot re-register it.
You may want to check your credit report with each of the credit reference agencies (CRAs) Experian, Equifax and Call-Credit to make sure everything else has been recorded correctly in your name.
I hope this helps have a good evening and enjoy the weekend.
Kind Regards
