simple question

in Techie Stuff
This is probably really straightforward but I don't know how to do it.

When I want to include a link in my posts, I know how to cut and paste the address of the page into the post.

What I haven't been able to work out is how to do that thing where the link appears not as the address but says "click here" and clicking on the word "here" takes you to the website or page.

Does that make sense?

Can anyone tell me how I do it.

    Normally does the trick. No spaces within the [ brackets ]

    That is how you do it, it cannot be posted in here as it would create a url but basically you do the following:

     Type in the link you want to see here [ / url ]
    Take out the spaces and it would look like:
    Type in the link you want to see here
    Sections in the [ ] create the url link and the writing between the 2 sets of [ ] is what you will see on the page instead of the actual url address.

    Takes a bit of getting used to but once you get to grips with the [] [/] system it's quite easy. Very useful information in that link, might be worthwhile knocking up something similar for other forums I visit if I get time. Not nice to completely rip off another site though so I would have to re-code it neutrally lol.

    or you could just use the insert link button on the toolbar when writing your message. Looks like the earth with a chain link over it.

    Type the text you want to be seen. Highlight the text then click the button and paste in the address to the box that appears.
