Re read the first two lines of my advice.Until you identify the cause....whatever that might be, you are nowhere in trying to resolve it. You can ban tenants from using portable gas heaters and make them use electric instead.its not that much more than LPG.
As a gas engineer I hate portable gas appliances in a domestic setting anyway.
The portable gas appliance is specifically banned as per the insurance schedule, for a property which is let to tenants.
My daughters letting agent has contacted the tenants to advise them of this fact. Despite this, the tenant continues to use a portable gas fire.
I will with you agree that the portable gas fire is only part of the cause of the damp problem. We are investigating further.
