Problems with switching supplier

Hi all, I am new to the forum, so please bear with me!
I switched energy suppliers from npower to SSE in November. Received the welcome pack from SSE, provided meter readings etc and they officially took control of my electricity on 19 November. Thought no more about it. End of December I was charged £55 by SSE (DD was supposed to be £48) and also £25 by Npower. I cancelled my DD with npower and contacted SSE about the above normal charge.
I was advised by SSE that they stopped supplying my electricity on 1 December - they believe Npower had completed a "winback".
SSE had charged £55 for 21 days electricity plus a £30 exit fee.
Npower have since raised an invoice on my account and there is no stop/start to their services.
SSE have advised there is nothing they can do, and the tarrif I signed up for is no longer available.
I have yet to hear back from Npower.
Any advice? Any similar experiences?
All comments gratefully received!!
Thanks

If you did not ask Npower to take back your supply ask for an Erroneous Transfer. If they cannot agree you gave permission you will be sent back to SSE on the tariff you were originally on.

If you did agree then I'm afraid you are out of luck.

  • Hi Joyful, thank you for your response. I definitely did not agree I have had no communication with them at all. I shall do as you suggest.
    Thanks again!
