chinese beach resorts ?

have heard quite a bit recently that chinese beach resorts are the next up and coming destinations.

has anyone been ?
where are they ?
how easy are they to get to from bejing ?
are they worth the long haul ?

would like to hear your opinions , or experiences

If you're going to the trouble of flying all the way to Beijing you may as well stay around there for a few days at least.

I don't know too much about the beaches, as i never went there, but i suspect that in the summer they will be soooooooooooooooo crowded. My mate used to live in Dalian (North-East) for a while, he told me that's one of the cleaner places.
Though i also recall a Chinese friend told me that the best beaches are in the South-West

But yeah, even when you get to Beijing you're probably going to be looking at another long journey to get to a beach resort. China is maaaaaaasssiiiiiiiiivvvvveeeeeeeee!
