Are these plans still available as the returns sound brilliant?

I was in one with Engage Mutual (now known as OneFamily) paying £20 a month over 10 years and all I gained on my £2400 was £100 so I had more of less written them off as rubbish and a poor investment.

No they have long since closed, this is the reason they are now delivering such good returns. The fund kept a sum of money aside for contingencys and as the fund is now closed they are distributing these assets to policyholders. A relative had one of these policy's and also one with Britannic Assurance, they are also distributing the assets of their fund so she's in for a second bumper payout!

No. They are very obsolete and had generally poor returns. You just need to see the other thread on this to see that people were, until recently, lucky to break even. The estate distribution is where the profit is.
