VCS Ltd PCN... back after 2 years!!!!

Hi All,
Im new to MSE forums so plz be gentle.
I would really appreciate some help/advice and will try to keep this as brief as possible:
A PCN was issued to me in autumn 2012 by Vehicle Control Service Ltd (VCS) but i cannot remember whether it was before or after 1st Oct 2012.
I clearly recall parking up buying a pay-and-display ticket as you do and leaving within the time limit as this was what i do every time i use the same car park on a regular basis, being a creature of habit and have never failed to pay for a ticket once.
A few weeks later i received a PCN stating that i used the carpark but had not purchased a ticket at all. The notice was for £60.
Unfortunately i did not keep the ticket as i had no problem in the past using that car park for years so did not feel the need to- lesson learnt.
Anyway i got the usual letter chain from VCS, Grahame White solicitors, Roxburghe etc. I did a bit of research online, ignored all these and after a few months the letters stopped.
It has been over 2 years now and this PCN is back with a vengeance: today a company called TNC Parking Services have sent me a "notice of intended further action" letter. In short, the letter has the following info:
1. A notice to pay TNC a total of £121.50 within 7 days
2. My reg number is listed
3. They have listed my vehicle make/model as "unknown"
4. They have not listed the date of the original PCN
5. A threat of court action if payment is not received
6. A claim that they wrote to me recently but this is the first letter i have received from them.
If anyone wishes to see a scanned copy of the letter please let me know and i will try to upload it.
Thanks in advance.

its only DRP under another name
read post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread, plus bear in mind this could go on for another 4 years (6 years being the maximum under the SCC)0 -
You can either ignore, or write one letter back.
Dear Debt Collector,
The debt is denied. Parking was paid for at the time. Please refer back to your principal. For the avoidance of doubt I will not be responding to debt collection letters. I suggest the best way to resolve this is to use the county court. To save costs I am prepared to use ADR and suggest the best process is to use the standard industry process, which is to appeal to the parking company and then POPLA if not resolved. If this is not acceptable, please instruct the principal to send a letter before claim compliant with practice directions.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
thanks for the prompt response
Yea checking the newbies section was the first thing i did, if it comes down to it i will do everything advised there but i hope that i dont have to go to court as i wouldnt have a clue...
sorry, being a newbie i dont kno what DRP means?0 -

Hi All,
Quick update and query:
I received another similar letter titled "notice of intention to instruct solicitors" threatening court action again.
Taking advice from the Newbies section #4 not to ignore the PCN i have sent an email based on the template to TNC Parking Services and hopefully they will now leave me alone.
One thing i forgot to mention in the email was that i do not have a contract with TNC, i am trying to find a 'no contract' template on MSE please can someone point me in the right direction as i want to further respond to TNC stating that i do not have any contract with them so it is crystal clear that i will not be dealing with them at all?
Thanks.0 -
