Cost of conservatory?

Wondered if anyone could give us a rough idea.
We are looking to have a conservatory base put in 3.7m wide and 3m projection. Two solid walls either side and dwarf wall at the front.
Then......
Conservatory windows at the front fitted, French doors fitted and patio doors from our kitchen into conservatory fitted. (The windows/doors & patio doors are supplied by ourselves as we have already sourced them.
I would like rough costs if possible as we are being quoted anything up to £20,000  which is a bit scary considering we are supplying the conservatory.

It depends on location - you are on the moon which will cause a dramatic increase in costs.
On planet Earth I recently had a conservatory base put in - a little bigger than yours. Clear the site, hand dig foundations, mass concrete/trench fill, dwarf walls to 750mm high, with 100mm cavity fully insulated and window cill board closer. Walls were on three sides - the other side was the existing home. All walls were two coat plastered. The floor slab was 50mm Celotex and 100mm concrete. There were some odd jobs and making good.
The price was £2460.0 -

Thanks for replying Furts. That's an awfully good price, we are in fact a little closer than the moon; Milton Keynes!
Would you mind me asking who did your work? I'm keen to contact and get the ball rolling.House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000

Unfortunately the builder is swamped with work and will not be travelling to Milton Keynes. But this type of work is straight forward groundworks. I suggest you ask around locally for a small groundworks contractor, or even a landscape or fencing contractor. I say the latter because some have excavators and a mini dumper - should you need one. In my case it was wheelbarrows and hard graft, but that was the builders choice.
I accept that the price was keen, but I did a costing to do the work myself, based on hiring in an excavator, a driver and a dumper. The price came in at just under £3000 - so you may wish to do the work on a DIY basis like this?0 -

Thanks Furts, that's really useful information for me to know. I was thinking about doing some of the work as we have four men in our family that could hopefully work together and clear the site in a couple of days leaving the concrete to go in and brickwork to be done (my uncle actually brick lays so I could persuade him)
I think this is our way forward to be honest, we need to keep costs as low as possible as our budget is less than healthy :rotfl:House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000
