Need storage solution for kitchen cupboard, ideas please...

Options
I have a tall cupboard in the kitchen, which has several shelves in it and I use it as a kind of 'pantry' cupboard for storing foodstuffs, tins, cereal packets etc. The trouble is that the shelves are quite deep and I can't see things at the back of them, and it is awkward to get to items on the top and bottom shelves anyway.

I have just cleaned out this cupboard, and would like to find some way of making it easier to use the space. I've been looking at maybe buying some baskets or shelf organiser thingies, but I am not sure what would work best. I don't want to spend money on something that in the end doesn't work very well.

So... has anyone used baskets, organisers, anything else in their cupboards to help store foodstuffs more sensibly, and what have you found works best?

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I use small plastic tupperware type boxes to store packets of rice/soup etc that can be pulled out and riffled through. I also use plastic trays that slide on the shelves easily to store my tins on so I can just slide the tray out to get at what's at the back. I would go with plastic though as oposed to pretty baskets as things will always leak so it needs to be washable.
  • I have used plastic pull-out baskets too. If deep enough, you can also plastic trays that hook on the shelf above, which makes better use of dead space. I also found a shelf stacker, which enabled me to stack more tins etc.

Thanks for this, can I ask where you got the shelf stacker from?
  • I think it was from either Betterwear or Kleenezee.
