Selling A Freehold Title

I would like to sell the freehold title I own for 2 leasehold flats.

Right of 1st refusal has been completed with no interest.

I would now like to sell and not sure what type of companies that I would need to contact ??

Or should I use an estate agent ?

I did have an agent a few months back & was just about to draw up a sale contract but never heard from them since, no response.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

We own a flat in a building whose freehold has been sold a couple of times in the past few years. It went on the market with a specialist agent, not your normal high street EA.

Try googling "freeholds for sale" in your area and see what companies are selling them.
  • Thanks for that info, I'll have a look now :)

    Many get sold at auction.
  • What are the lengths of the leases on the two flats and what is the annual Ground Rent (and any provisions for GR rises)?

If the leases are long and the GR low you may well find there is no interest in the freehold.

For what purpose are you trying to sell?
    - to raise cash?
    - to release you from the need to maintain the building?
    - some other reason?
  • Thanks for the replies.

The leases are 111 years on both. Ground rent £150 a year each. I am looking to sell to evade maintaining the building & obviously to make a slight bit of cash.

Auction sounds like the best bet..
