Wheel Balancing...fair price?
Comments

Doesn't sound like that bad a price to me. They can't be making much money out of that anyway. It would take as long to get the car in and wheel off as it would to balance the wheels. 10-15 minute turnaround from getting in the car to parking it up again. Works out at about the going rate per hour.
Most places offering it cheap will not be making much, but it gets customers through the door.0 -
Not the cheapest.
£15 is what you would pay for Road Force Balancing.
And in my experience mechanics are more likely to sell a car on with a potentially expensive fault as they spot it sooner than some drivers.
And realise how expensive it is to fix0 -
I've come to the conclusion that you're all just trying to scare the jazeebers out of me haha....bury head in sand moment.0

When it comes to used cars trust nobody.0

I paid £5 for a balance and £7.50 to break bead, clean rim, new valve & balance0

If you buy fully fitted tyres there is wheel balancing usually included. Fully fitted prices usually include your selected tyres, standard rubber valves, fitting, balancing, disposal of your old tyres and VAT.0

The guy I bought it off was a mechanic so doubt he would've sold it with any known faults.
Swapping the wheels front to back may make a difference and either confirm or rule out wheel inbalance as the cause.0 -

I've booked the car in to the garage for Saturday morning to get checked over so will see what they say.
It was a private sale unfortunately so no comeback from the seller if it turns out to be a bigger issue but the issue has been there since the first time I went on the motorway in the car.
The car is absolutely fine at lower speeds, so the issue isn't apparent unless I'm going 70mph so never would've shown up on a test drive anyway.0 -

I hope those expensive wheels aren't buckled.0
