Pension and tax returns?

Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to give us some advice and save us a call to the tax office.

My husband has recently left the army and now has a new job as well as his pension. His new job should be putting him on the BR tax code, his army job and pension have used the 1000l code. I assume we will need to fill out a tax return for the year to apr 2015 to ensure the correct amount of tax has been paid?

Once the new tax year starts and we only have his pension with the 1000l code (or whatever it changes to come april) and his new job income on the BR code, does that mean the correct amount of tax will be paid over? Will he still need to do a tax return in future years?

Thank you.

To help further we need to know :

    1) How much did he earn between 6/4/14 and 05/04/15 in the Army
    2) How much will his Army pension be ? and
    3) How much will he earn in his new job ?.
    4) How old is your husband ?

He will need to complete an SA return for the current year (2014/15) by 31/01/16 at the latest, and possibly every year in the future.

    Thanks
