Active policies companies saying no records

My partner has 2 insurance policies taken out through Lloyds Bank but when asked for confirmation of what they are for the 2 companies in question say they have been unable to locate any policy. I have been collating his accounts for many years so I know the premiums have been taken out every month for at least the last 12 years. The bank has asked them under his current address and previous address and his DOB but they can't find anything. Therefore had he needed to claim I assume they would say that he couldn't as they have no record of any policy. The bank has just said that a direct debit can be cancelled at any time but someone has been taking the money every month. I don't really know what to do next. I hope someone may be able to give me some ideas. Thanks.

The Direct Debit will have a reference number and whilst it may not be the policy number certainly the finance department in the insurer will be able to trace whats happening to the monies from that reference0

Yet again Lloyds are a waste of time. They have the direct debit references but no policies showing against them. Someone is getting the money from these direct debits. Off to the Ombudsmen we go.0

Waste of time contacting the ombudsman until you have made an official complaint to Lloyds and they failed to resolve the issue.
Did you contact the Lloyds rep above?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have complained to Lloyds initially and they and the rep said he couldn't help either. The letter that was their final response had the leaflet enclosed about going to the ombudsmen if we still weren't happy with their response.
In what universe would we be happy to still not know what or whose policies the direct debits were paying for.0 -
Are these Lloyds insurance policies, or polices arranged by Lloyds with a third party insurer?
What says the direct debit entries visible on the bank statements?I am a mortgage broker. Am I missing something here?
Is there any reason why you haven't contacted the "2 companies in question" and asked them?
The direct debit reference will mean nothing to Lloyds Bank, but quite a lot to the insurance company concerned.0 -
Arranged by LLoyds currently the DD are to First Assist and Genworth Financial. I complained to LLoyds about how he has dyslexia, and before I knew him he trusted his business bank manager to be looking after his best interests but he was sold 3 different policies and since I have known him he has had no contact from them. Had something happened to him we wouldn't know who to contact. That was my beef with Lloyds. Now I know what they are for, 3 policies seem to cover the same things.
Lloyds don't deny they set them up.0 -
Lloyds have spoken to the 2 companies in question0

If Lloyds are paying DDs on a policy they sold but nobody has any idea what it is then I think that FOS is the next move.
I fear it will be a long wait, though.0
