1899 and 18866 charges

Hi,

Do 1899 and 18866 email to tell you when they increase the prices or are you supposed to keep checking their web sites? I didn't realise that 18866 had put their prices up until I read it here! Did I miss an email? Isn't it naughty to increase prices without telling you. After all, shops have to show prices on the shelf edge by law, so you know what they cost before you buy. It is naughty that you might make a call and they could say £100/minute please afterwards; if you knew the cost beforehand it might alter you decision to make the call or how long to call for. Thanks.

Turn the tariff announcement on and you'll hear the 'per minute' cost at the start of each call.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

I do not think there is any requirement to E-Mail, just to 'publish' them - I assume that can mean their website as they are Internet-only.

Kingston Communications publish their price changes in the local paper onloy - they do not inform customers directly (although BT do via their magazine).

I know it is a problem when 18866 changes it prices so often but, as April2 says, just turn on the tariff announcement (or make sure you listen to it). That is the best form of notification you can possibly have - as how many people bother to read the paper for price changes - or even the BT magazine?

This only works when you manually dial the number. You don't get the announcement if the 18866 is prefixed on your phones memory numbers.

Surely it's impossible for 18866 to know how you dialled the number

I have 18866 + number on a speed dial and still get the announcement, the only time you don't hear the announcement is if the callee is quick to pick up the call.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)

I agree - but would add the word 'very' between 'is' and 'quick' there.
